Work Study Orientations
About Work Study
Work study is a type of financial aid that is earned through part time employment. Students interested in employment through work study must attend an orientation before they can participate.
- Work Study awards are on a first come, first serve basis while funding is available.
- Eligibility on your financial aid does not guarantee funding or a job.
- Eligibility or an award may be canceled or reduced according to funds availability or changes in a student's status or financial aid.
- Students can work up to 19 hours per week, however most average 12 hours per week.
- Work study students are not eligible to work while on Financial Aid suspension or when not enrolled.
- Work study students are generally not eligible to work during quarter breaks.
- Students receiving unemployment will need to check with Student Employment about how work study can affect their unemployment.
Work Study Orientations
Students interested in a work study position, who have work study eligibility, may schedule an orientation online.
As of November 1st, Work study is on a hiring freeze until further notice. Check Myinterfase for updates.
Finding Work Study Jobs
We strongly recommend registering on MyInterfase to search for work study and other employment options. When work study funding is available, the positions will be on that site. Students can talk with Student Employment to see if a current or prospective job qualifies for work study.
