Transition Success Center Peer Navigator

Department: Transition Success Center (TSC)
Reports To: Deborah Tugaga, TSC Director
Work Schedule: 10-19 hours per week (flexible schedule) per academic quarter
Wage: $17.28 per hour
Location: Building 1 – Support Center

About TSC:

The Transition Success Center (TSC) helps students from ELCAP (ABE, ESOL, GED, Jumpstart) and High School Engagement and Academic Success (HSEAS) programs take their next steps into college. We connect students to academic and career exploration, admissions and enrollment support, funding resources, and referrals to other services on campus.

As a Peer Navigator, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces students meet at the Support Center. You’ll welcome visitors, answer questions, and help your peers find the resources they need, whether that’s filling out applications, navigating college systems, or connecting with other departments on campus. This role is a great opportunity to build leadership, communication, and office skills while supporting fellow students.

Your Job Duties:

  • Greet students and visitors at the front desk and help with check-in.
  • Answer phones, emails, and direct people to the right office or staff member.
  • Support students with questions about TSC, Financial Aid, Registration, Advising, Tutoring, Support Center, and more.
  • Walk students to offices on campus if they’re unsure where to go.
  • Assist with Support Center applications (like emergency funding, IBEST or WES Funding forms).
  • Help with TSC events, workshops, and outreach activities.
  • Work on light office projects (filing, data entry, copies, etc.).
  • Keep the space welcoming and organized.
  • Special Projects as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Work Study eligible students (highly encouraged to apply)
  • Bilingual/multilingual skills (especially Spanish, Dari, Somali)
  • Former ESOL, GED, or HSEAS students
  • Current college students (3rd quarter or beyond preferred)
